We are a South Coast–based property services company providing practical, hands-on support to property owners and organisations who want their buildings to be safe, compliant, well maintained and properly managed.

Our role is not simply to maintain buildings, but to help owners understand them better, make informed decisions and unlock their potential in a way that is practical, purposeful and right for the people who use them.

That might mean improving condition, resolving compliance issues, planning future works, adapting a property for a new use or simply helping it work better over the long term.

Rather than simply responding when something goes wrong, we aim to provide the oversight that helps prevent problems, plan works sensibly and keep properties in good order over the long term.

We are not interested in short-term fixes. Our focus is on helping properties become safer, more useful, more resilient and better suited to their purpose for the long-term.

Our work can include everything from day-to-day maintenance and contractor management through to property inspections, compliance oversight, refurbishment projects, condition planning and support with more complex property matters.

Alder brings together our in-house experience with a trusted network of local tradespeople, contractors and specialist professionals. This allows us to bring in the right expertise when it is needed, while keeping the process coordinated, practical and straightforward for the client.

Based on the South Coast, we value local knowledge and long-term relationships. The alder tree is native to the landscapes we know well — rooted, resilient and able to thrive in changing conditions. That felt like a fitting name for the way we want to work: grounded, adaptable and built for the long term.

Alder Property was founded by Thomas Nicholson, following more than 20 years working across property, construction, maintenance and development.

Thomas leads each piece of work personally and works directly with clients, taking the time to understand the property, the issues involved and what the client is trying to achieve.

Where additional expertise is needed, Alder draws on its wider network of trusted tradespeople, contractors and property specialists, bringing in the right support for the job.

This approach gives clients the benefit of direct, experienced oversight with access to wider specialist knowledge when required.
